Halley Neal is a folk-pop singer and songwriter based in Nashville, TN. Inspired by 70’s artists like Joni Mitchell and Fleetwood Mac as well as modern day singer-songwriters, Halley’s sound has been said to reference a 70's pop sound and a 90's folk sound, all with modern folk writing. Shortly after graduating from college, Halley moved to Nashville, TN where in her first few months, she was a chosen finalist for “Nashville Rising Song,” a premiere songwriting competition. Just recently she was a finalist in the 2022 Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter Showcase and performed on the main stage of the festival. Her second album called “Beautiful & Blue” is coming out at the end of the month on September 30th.
We recently saw Halley perform and was moved by her incredibly beautiful voice and vocal range. We think you will agree she is a talented upcoming star to watch closely!
Some artists document their lives through their music. Others chronicle their times. It’s a rare artist who can do both, telling their own story through songs that also encapsulate the essence of people and places who have helped define their era overall. Woody Guthrie comes to mind, and so does Bob Dylan. Bruce Springsteen certainly as well. Ellis Paul is one of those gifted singer/songwriters, he is a singular storyteller, a musician whose words reach out from inside and yet also express the feelings, thoughts and sensibilities that most people can relate to in one way or another, regardless of age or upbringing. The exhilaration of the open road. A celebration of heroes. The hope for redemption. Descriptions of those things that are both near and dear. The sharing of love..., intimate, passionate and enduring. Listen to "The World Ain't Slowing Down" used in the Jim Carey movie "Me, Myself and Irene.
Liz and I saw Ellis perform at a packed show in Virginia several years ago, since then, we have been waiting and hoping this incredible songwriter/storyteller's tour would bring him near us again, we are tired of waiting so we are bringing him to St James City!
A country singer and songwriter with a big voice and a working-class sensibility, Cliff Cody embraces the classic themes of country music, hard work, hard times, broken hearts, and the occasional glass of whiskey to smooth away life's rough edges. Originally from Texas, Cody has spent time in Tennessee, New York, Ohio, and Florida as he's chased his dream of finding a bigger audience for his work. Making his debut with the 2014 album Homegrown, Cody's music has a potent classic rock influence.

In November, Lee won Female Vocalist of the Year and Music Video of the Year at the Trop Rock Music Awards. She released her 10th album on New Year's Day. “This album kind of blends a little bit of beachy flavor, some classic country that I love along with a modern pop-country vibe," Lee said. " I feel like it brings in the roots of country where country has gone and a little splash of fun at the beach with a little salt.” A prolific songwriter who has penned songs recorded by dozens of Nashville artists, including Mark Bray, the late Alabama Outlaw Legend Wayne Mills, Thomas Fountain (Recent Georgia Country’s Male Artist of the Year, The Viper Creek Band (Australia’s hottest new country band), Preston Summerville and more. Sam Robbins describes himself as an "old soul singer songwriter." A Nashville based musician whose music evokes classic 70's singer songwriters like James Taylor and Neil Young, Sam adds a modern, upbeat edge to the storyteller troubadour persona. An avid performer, he has gained recognition from extensive touring and as the first artist to perform a Jim Croce song on NBC's The Voice. In 2021, Sam was chosen out of over 700 submissions as one of the six winners of the Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk competition, one of the largest and most prestigious songwriting competitions in the country. Listen
We saw Sam perform in Feb 2022 at a house concert, his incredible vocal, guitar and songwriting skills immediately jumped out at us. You will see why he was on television's "The Voice". Best way we can describe him is: If James Taylor and Jason Mraz had a "love child", Sam Robbins would be it.

Liz and I are so excited for you to meet Brett this year at YOLOFEST! The first time we saw Brett was him opening for Phil Vassar in 2020, he completely "wowed" us with his songwriting and performance. Do NOT miss this opportunity to one day say "I saw Brett Sheroky up close and personal at a show in St James City!"
